			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>This is an easy side dish that I like to make when I am hungry for some good old comfort food.  It has been updated a little (no white rice anymore for me &#8211; I love the nuttiness of brown rice too much) .  The sunflower seeds in here are just yummy!  Don&#8217;t let them cook or they will get soggy.  Just put them in at the end and sprinkle on top.</div>
<div></div>
<div>1 bundle fresh chopped spinach<br />
2 cups cooked brown rice<br />
1  cup  sliced mushrooms<br />
1 medium onion -chopped<br />
1 tbsp. coconut oil<br />
2 tsp. prepared mustard<br />
1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese &#8211; cut into cubes<br />
1 medium carrot, shredded<br />
1/4 cup milk<br />
1/2 cup  toasted sunflower seeds</div>
<p>Blanch fresh spinach in boiling water and quickly remove, drain and set aside.</p>
<p>In a sautee add coconut oil, onions, garlic and mushroom, sautee until onions are golden and mushroom are moist. Add rice, mustard, milk and cream cheese.  Put into 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Stir in spinach, carrots and milk. Cook another 10 minutes then stir in 1/4 cup  of the sunflower seeds and sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup seeds on top and serve. Makes 4  servings for a delicious nutritious <a href="http://healthymealdiet.com/gombs-diet">GOMBS</a> meal.</p>

<p>2 bunches of fresh spinach &#8211; cleaned, dried, torn into pieces<br />
1/2 pint of fresh blueberries<br />
1/2 thinly sliced red onion</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>For Dressing:<br />
1/3 cup of sugar<br />
2 tbsp. sesame seeds<br />
1 tbsp poppy seed<br />
1 1/2 tsp minced onion<br />
1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce<br />
1/4 tsp paprika<br />
1/2 oil<br />
1/4 cup red wine vinegar</p>
<p>Place dressing ingredients in a blender and blend until mixed. For lovely individual servings, place the spinach on each plate and arrange the blueberries and onions in a pleasing pattern. Then drizzle with the blended dressing.  The salad can also be made in one large bowl, with dressing mixed in, or served in a nice little pitcher alongside.  To add extra <a href="http://healthymealdiet.com/gombs-diet">GOMBS</a> touches, try experimenting with adding some thinly sliced mushrooms in the salad, or some extra sesame seeds sprinkled on top.</p>
<p>If you add the mushrooms in then this salad covers all the GOMBS needs:  For greens we have fresh crisp spinach which is a classic for this kind of salad.  Sweet red onions add nice flavor and crunch (I like them sliced thin, as they can be a little strong). Thinly sliced mushrooms hand the M part of  GOMBS and add a nice deep heart healthy taste (try experimenting with different types of mushrooms if you like &#8211; I like a firmer mushroom for this recipe, like baby portabellas).  SOmetimes this recipe is made with strawberries and that too would cover the B part of GOMBS, but I just love the blueberries in this salad (maybe I just love blueberries in general).  And for S there are sesame seeds and poppy seeds.  To be accurate to all of <a href="http://healthymealdiet.com/gombs-diet">GOMBS</a> (or should I say <a href="http://healthymealdiet.com/gombs-diet">GOMBBS</a>) I left the beans out of this salad.  They just didn&#8217;t seem to fit, though if you wanted to try, I&#8217;d say some nice mellow little white beans might go quite well.  If you try it, let me know how it tastes.</p>

<h2>Ingredients</h2>
<ul>
<li>1 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil</li>
<li>1 tablespoons butter</li>
<li>4 cloves garlic, chopped</li>
<li>24 small white mushrooms, cut in half</li>
<li>1 bunch kale, trimmed, with stems removed and chopped</li>
<li>one small onion cut in pieces</li>
<li>1/4 cup Marsala or other sherry</li>
<li>Salt and pepper</li>
<li>Sesame seeds</li>
</ul>
<h2>Directions</h2>

<p>Heat up a medium sized skillet with the extra-virgin olive  oil and butter over medium-high heat.  When the oil is hot, add  in your garlic and onions and sautee till the onions start to soften.  Then add in the mushrooms and place a lid on the pan. Cook about 7 minutes, stirring only once.  Open the lid and add the kale which will start to wilt and you mix it with the mushrooms.  Put the lid on the skillet for another 2 minutes and cook the greens.  Remove the vegetables from the pan and then deglaze the pan with the Marsala or Sherry.  Add the vegetables back in and season the mixture with salt and  pepper, to taste.  Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.</p>

There are a couple of different perspectives on this and it can sometimes be confusing when you hear contradictory information.  Some people say that any exercise that gets your heart rate going in your target heart range and is sustained for a period of time is the best weight loss approach to exercising. Certainly if you want to lose weight, you need to exercise hard enough to increase your pulse rate enough to burn fat more efficiently.  Others say that doing good muscle building and weight training to build muscle that continues to burn fat even when you are at rest is the best exercise to lose weight. Actually both of these are important elements in exercise for weight loss.</p>
<p>It is a common misconception that aerobic exercise and cardio workouts alone are enough to burn fat and tone muscles. However aerobic exercise accomplishes very little toning and firming. Resistance exercise, or weight training, is where the toning and firming of muscles happens.</p>
<p>Essentially the best exercises will contain a cardio aspect for burning energy and a toning element to have the fat burn keep going after you are done exercising. You will see your results faster by combining both exercise elements of cardio workout and toning specific muscles.  Doing both aerobics and weight training is optimal for losing fat and gaining muscle. Studies have shown that weight loss increases by 56 percent when aerobic and strength exercises are combined.</p>
<p>The idea that building muscle only bulks you up is an outdated one.  While muscle may weigh more, when you increase your muscle mass, the body is able to burn more fat, even when you are resting, because it raises your metabolism. A pound of muscle uses up 350 to 500 calories per week, while a pound of fat uses only about 14 calories per week.</p>
<p>However, keep in mind that when you are looking for where to get started, the best approach is to choose an activity that you enjoy.  It is no good to start a program that you don&#8217;t enjoy. I find that what works best for me is to start moving to music I love, then once I am warmed up, my body just naturally wants to keep going.  Then lifting some weight or doing leg lifts feels satisfying.  But if I start out telling myself that I just have to do situps because it is the best exercise to lose weight, then I am only setting myself up to fail. (Because I simply hate doing sit ups!)  I&#8217;ll stick to it for a day or two but then I get bored and resentful.  But if I start out by dancing, then add in some weight lifting work I enjoy the way my body ends up feeling.</p>
<p>So the best exercise for weight loss is the exercise you can keep doing in the long term. And then keep upping your activity level as you get stronger and fitter. Walking is great if you have not been exercising much.  If you have been walking slowly, start walking faster. Then add some weights to your walk and move your arms back and forth as you walk.  In other words keep upping the ante and your body will thank you. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Cultivated for centuries, tea is one of the most widely consumed drinks in the world.  Hundreds of millions of people consume tea and there are more and more studies being done that suggest that green tea in particular may have numerous health benefits. When looking into green tea weight loss methods it is also important to note the additional benefits of green tea. It may just be that your green tea weight loss program will have a positive impact on your overall health and longevity as well as helping you lose those extra unwanted pounds.</p>
<p>In tea there are three main varieties &#8211; green, black, and oolong.  The main difference is really in how they are processed.  Green tea is made from the green leaves of the tea plant and are not fermented.  Green tea reportedly has the highest amount of of antioxidants (polyphenols). Antioxidants are the particles that fight the damaging compounds in the body that mutate and damage cells and DNA  (these bad guys are called free radicals).  Anitioxidants like polyphenols found in green tea help to neutralize free radicals and have been shown to reduce and help prevent damage that free radicals cause.</p>
<p>In traditional medicinal practice in Chinese and Indian cultures, green tea is used in many ways.  It is used as a stimulant, a diuretic (which helps the body get rid of excess fluid), an astringent (which controls bleeding and helps wounds to heal), and to increase heart health. Some other traditional uses include treating bloating from gas, regulation of body temperature, maintaining even blood sugar, helping the digestion, and improving mental functioning.</p>
<p>Green tea weight loss has been the subject of numerous studies in humans and animals and other health benefits of green tea have been studied as well. Some of these studies suggest that green tea may be helpful in treating these conditions: High cholesterol, many types of cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diabetes, liver disease, obesity, inflammatory diseases like arthritis, genital warts, and cold and flu.</p>
<p>Studies show that drinking green tea reduces the risk of dying from any cause. This is quite a statement, isn&#8217;t it! I leave it up to you to determine if green tea weight loss is just hype or something relevant and powerful to introduce into your lifestyle. Even if not for the purposes of losing weight, drinking green tea is clearly good for your body. You should consider of course that there is caffeine in green tea.  Weight loss is sometimes helped by caffeine, and yet still you need to pay attention to your own body and take caffeine into account with any <a href="http://healthymealdiet.com">green tea weight loss</a> methods you use.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Here is one of my favorite simple recipes:  Cut up a bunch of fresh kale, dice up two green onions and 6 or 7 mushrooms.  Add some sesame tahini and a dash of lemon juice, sea salt, dried garlic and sesame seeds.  Stir it all together and refrigerate overnight.</p>
<p>And here is another great way to eat fresh kale. To make it a tad more in line with <a href="http://healthymealdiet.com/gombs-diet">GOMBS</a>, you could sprinkle on some sesame seeds, a bit of green onion, and some  diced mushrooms.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When those mid afternoon hungry feelings strike you, head for some healthy and tasty snacks that will fill you up and satisfy your tastebuds too.</p>
<p>Slim chicken fiesta wrap: Put one small corn tortilla on a plate and add 3 oz. of chicken.  Top it with 2 Tbsp. of shredded cheese (Cheddar, or Monterey Jack) and a good dollop of salsa.  Warm it up in the microwave and enjoy.</p>
<p>Pita Party:  Instead of a pity party binge on chips and dips, indulge in a big whole wheat pita bread with 2 Tbsp of hummus. Squeeze on some lemon or lime juice and  sprinkle with ground flax seed and paprika.</p>
<p>String Cheese: one yummy string cheese makes for a good snack.  You can dip it in a little warm marinara sauce for variety.</p>
<p>Guacamole and Bean wrap: fill one small corn tortilla with 1/4 cup of black beans and 1/4 cup of avocado with fresh salsa.</p>
<p>Get creative and leap out of the box.  I love nonfat greek yogurt.  Take a 1/4 cup and add some garlic powder or dill and mix it up.  Then grab some crunchy celery or carrots and dip away for some fun and tasty <a href="http://http://healthymealdiet.com" target="_blank">healthy snacks</a>.</p>
